I saw the news today about the Camerons leaving their 8 yr old daughter in a pub because they both thought she was with her other parent! If you’ve read our earlier blogs you’ll know why we can sympathise!
I feel slightly virtuous that we left our daughter at a school concert rather than a pub however, and they had bodyguards in tow who might have paid more attention!
After a fun day half term trip to London last Thursday to see Shrek the musical and take a ‘London Duck tour’ I am very aware how careful we’ll have to be with our kids on our family gap year travels! In a matter of hours, I lost two kids in Drury lane theatre, one in St James park, and two briefly in Victoria station. I did manage to find them you’ll be glad to know!
We fly one month from today, we move out in 2.5 weeks! There is a mild panic rumbling in the pit of my stomach!! Today I made a good effort going through toiletries and medicines to take away, picked out torn jeans to make into shorts and filled half a binbag with rubbish… We also went for the last of our vaccinations so we can now safely get bitten by rabied dogs, monkeys & three toed sloths in South America or even grey squirrels in St James park etc and stay safe! So that’s progress!
