Celebrating our Two Year Travel Birthday

11th July 2014. We’ve been two years on the road – 104 weeks, or 730 days – where has it gone?!!

And now we’re embarking on Year 3 …. But only for a month, then we’ll be home, which we all have mixed feelings about! Can’t wait to see all our friends and family, enjoy some home comforts and we’re pretty happy about enjoying (hopefully) a pleasant British summertime. More

Unexpected Generosity

Yesterday I went to London to an exhibition at ExCel, it took 3 hours to get there with 7 stops. I did not see many smiling faces on my journey and even after rush hour I had to stand half of the way, perhaps the train has suddenly become popular with driving so expensive? Against this backdrop I had two encounters which brightened up my day:

Life is not a Dress Rehearsal

Easter Island

No no no – I spent much of yesterday afternoon looking into how we can fly To Rio using air miles and buy tickets from Santiago onward. Easier said than done. Really disappointed to discover that ‘hopping’ around Pacific Islands is not quite the same as ‘hopping’ around Greek Islands…

Interview with Zoe – Part 1

Mum interviewed me about our gap year and this is it!

Zoe, what do you think about our plans to travel the world?

I don’t know! I think it’s going to be fun but I’m going to miss my friends and my teacher Miss Jane

What are you looking forward to most?

Well, staying with different people. And well…. More

Back to school without the kids!

This week I’ve been on two training courses – both courtesy of Living Social – one to learn about WordPress (web design & build,  on which we’ve designed and built this blog site) and one an SLR photography course.

The WordPress course was my idea to help kickstart my involvement in Martin’s business and I knew whatever I learned would fall way short More

Daddy, what about Christmas presents?

Christmas in the Clark household is a bit like a big pass the parcel game, lots of unwrapping and a brief moment of delight at getting something (or a disappointed oh?).

Given that Ben and Zoe were back to playing with their (old) Lego by the Queen’s speech and making a spy mission kit out of the cardboard boxes that the presents came in it crossed our minds, not for the first time, that perhaps our kids are a bit spoiled. More
