Mum interviewed me about our family gap year and this was it:-
Ben, what do you think about our plans to travel the world?
I think that it’ll be very nice to go to other countries, make new friends and be with my family all the time and not have my parents working all the time.
What are you looking forward to most?
Errrrrm, New people. Tasting different food that I haven’t tasted before – that would be very nice to taste food I’ve never tasted before in my life.
What are you going to miss?
My Lego – definitely (Ben has his head in a box of Lego as he dictates this) Errrm…. I would miss my teddies. I’m gonna miss my friends and Miss Fenlon my teacher. Errrm, I’m really gonna miss my Lego!
Do you think you’ll want to come home?
YES!
What do you think about home school?
I think it will be bad cos mummy’s a bad teacher!
Ohhhh! What makes you say that?
Because I think so!
What do you think about missing school for a year?
it will be horrible cause I won’t see any of my friends.
Does anything worry you about our trip?
Yes, getting eaten by cannibals!

Interesting answers to your interview. Poor Mummy, does she make you work too hard at your homework?
I think it’s best to avoid cannibals.
I’m sure you will make friends with other children on your travels and then become pen-pals, which of course you can also do with your friends from school. They will be waiting to hear of your adventures.
